Abs are Made When You Walk Away From the Kitchen

So I'm taking the easy way out today because sometimes life gets in the way and you don't schedule your blogs on the weekend. Whoops!

But the good news is that I wanted to participate in the link-up I found over on Kait's blog!

Today the prompt is "Favorite Core Exercise".

Ha-ha but seriously - the best way I've found to tone up my core is to cut dairy, grains and beans out of my diet (paleo) and drink lots of water.

But more than tone your core, you want to strengthen it.

That's why I'm sharing with you today a workout from the Tone it Up ladies that they call "The Best Ab Workout".

3 rounds of 15 reps

Scissor Crunch
Starfish Crunch
Side Slimmer
Tummy Tuck
Burpees (!!!!) because they work

Details for each exercise (and a printout) here

May Challenge

Go get your abs on! I smell a plank challenge coming on!

  1. i also love: landmine rows, goblet squats with a heavy weight, renegade rows, dynamic plank moves, anything pilates, banana to superman...so many! these work your entire core (180 degrees) in addition to working other muscles in your body. i love compound moves because it jacks up your caloric burn, heart rate and works multiple muscles at once :)

  2. HURRAY thanks for linking up! It really is crazy how much more diet affects our abs/muscle tone than working out - I think I've heard the 60/40 ratio as far as diet/exercise importance?

  11. The TIU girls have the best exercises but I have to say their ab ones are the best! When I cut dairy out of my diet I see the best results but how do I give up shredded cheese it's like the best on top of everything!!!!

  13. this looks like a great set of exercises, definitely trying it at the gym this week. Also, now that I'm 4 years out of colliegiate competition, my abs are definitely starting to fade but I don't think I could EVER give up cheese, but as long as I feel good about my body it's a trade-off I can live with.

  15. Going to have give this a try one day. I have a hard time with doing burpees. Due to I slide all around in my living room. I have been doing a challenge this month and that to go a mile everyday. So far I have been getting at least 5 miles in a day.

  23. I do that ab routine on the regular! It's great! But you're right, abs are made in the gym but revealed in the kitchen. I'm not sure I could cut out dairy entirely but I know I feel a lot better when I limit it.
